Balay Dako Another Issue? Customer Complains About “Ipis” In Ordered Food

Customer who ate in Balay Dako complained about “ipis”.

Filipino restaurant Balay Dako faces another issue as one customer surfaces with complaints about the food they serve.

Balay Dako means Big House and this is the setup of a Filipino restaurant nestled in Tagaytay. They aim to make their restaurant the home of their customers where they can celebrate different types of celebrations and feel the same comfort a house can bring.

They proudly serve Filipino food where every dish is served with a sense of family and history. The restaurant is also proudly pet-friendly, however, previously, they faced backlash because of this. They claimed to be pet-friendly but a staff has rejected an Aspin dog which created a loud buzz online.

People did not like how the innocent Aspin dog, the local breed, was turned away in a restaurant that serves local food and is promoted as pet-friendly. The Tagaytay restaurant issued a statement and apologized. They explained their side about the matter but the bashing already became widespread and their page has been flooded already with negative comments.

Following the issue about being pet-friendly, another issue came when a customer who dined recently in their restaurant claimed that there’s a cockroach in the soup that they served.

It was a “very bad experience” for a Facebook user named Jojo Valerio. A dead cockroach was floating in the bowl which negatively impacted his appetite and his view of the food handling and hygiene of the restaurant.

The staff was friendly and apologetic but he was deeply disappointed as that was a serious situation. Their health was at risk and to think that they’re paying quite an expensive amount for their food. The high price seemed to have not compensate things when it comes to food safety.

“They waived the bill but for me hindi ito tamang pangyayari sa isang restaurant na alam naman natin na hindi mura at ang presyo ay may kamahalan,” the customer said.
