Doppelganger or made to look like Alice Guo?
A staff of dismissed mayor Alice Guo faced the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to answer the “doppelganger” allegations.
Was Catherine Salazar naturally looking like Alice Guo or made to look like the former mayor to mislead investigators?
National Bureau of Investigation Director Jaime Santiago expressed that they are not ruling out the possibility of Guo’s “doppelganger” used to deliberately mislead the authorities regarding the investigation. It is accordingly possible that the “doppelganger” has played a significant role to divert the investigation before about Guo’s actual location.
Before Guo was cleared for transfer to the Philippines, she was shown the picture of her aide and recognized her.
What the authorities are looking for is the possibility that she took the ex-mayor’s place when a lawyer notarized her counter-affidavit. At that time, she has already escaped the country. The staff could possibly be the one Atty. Elmer Galicia saw last August 14 and at this time, Guo is out of the country already. It was last September 4 when Guo was arrested in Indonesia.
The “doppelganger”
The former mayor’s staff’s name is Catherine Salazar. She faced the NBI in her long black hair and glasses which pretty much looked like the mayor before cutting her hair.
She refused answering the media regarding her role in the escape of Guo. NBI Assistant Director Atty. Lito Magno believed that she could help the investigation, most especially in backtracking and to prove whether the ex-mayor used a double or not.
About her escape, Guo claimed that they took three boats to reach their destination, however, Guo’s passport indicated a Malaysia stamp. It was dated July 18 which made authorities doubt her boat story. A Sabah stamp dated July 19 was also in her passport and a stamp of departure from Malaysia on July 21 was also there.
