PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (September 12, 2024)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca and the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (September 12, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that Bebinca’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain over the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas while the southwest monsoon or habagat will be affecting Mindanao and the rest of Southern Luzon.

Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca was last spotted 1,975 kilometers east of Central Luzon – outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). It has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and a gustiness of 115 kph.

Bebinca’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.

The severe tropical storms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of the Bicol Region.

Habagat will also bring similar weather conditions over the rest of MIMAROPA and CALABARZON. The localized thunderstorms will bring the same weather over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern section of Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The Eastern sections of Luzon and the Visayas as well as the rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
