Here’s Bongbong Marcos Reaction To Gibo Teodoro Resignation Rumors
GIBO TEODORO – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reacted to Gibo Teodoro’s resignation rumors.
Gilbert Teodoro is a prominent Filipino politician and lawyer. He has held several key positions in the Philippine government, including serving as Secretary of National Defense and as a member of the House of Representatives.
Teodoro is known for his work in defense and security, as well as his involvement in various legislative initiatives. His political career has included running for the presidency and playing a significant role in shaping Philippine policy and governance.
It was rumored that defense chief Gibo Teodoro was stepping down from his post. Based on a report from Philstar, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dismissed rumors of Teodoro’s resignation.
“Fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake news ‘yan,” Marcos said in an ambush interview.
“Mga desperado nag-iimbento ng istorya para gumawa ng gulo. Wala naman silang naibibigay, wala silang natutulong,” BBM said further.
Marcos described the fake news being spread as the worst kind and urged the public to be vigilant against such disinformation. Marcos mentioned he was initially advised to address the fake news but emphasized the importance of informing people.
“Itong ganitong klaseng mga tsismis, mga marites, kinakalat lang nila ito para manggulo. ‘Wag po kayong magpadala sa mga ganyan,” Marcos said.
In a separate statement, Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cesar Chavez affirmed that Teodoro continues to have Marcos’ full trust.
Chavez condemned the rumors as “pitiful attempts to create discord within an organization that is unified in safeguarding our people and defending our territory.”
Teodoro plays a vital role amid China’s maritime expansion in Philippine waters. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), an agency under the Department of National Defense, along with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), has been actively involved in protecting Philippine territories.
Recent confrontations between Chinese forces and the AFP have escalated tensions in the West Philippine Sea, with Beijing falsely claiming most of the area. China is also known for using trolls to spread fake news and disinformation in the Philippines to reinforce its own narrative.
