Good Samaritan Earns Praise for Rescuing Abandoned Dog
MARILAO, BULACAN – A Good Samaritan earns online admiration for saving a dog left tied up in the middle of a heavy rainstorm.
Jane Francisco Aquino, a Facebook user, shared a heartwarming video of a dog she rescued amidst heavy rain in a barangay in Marilao, Bulacan. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Jane stumbled upon a shivering dog tied outside a gate during the downpour. The dog appeared skinny and clearly distressed. She tried to call out to the dog’s owner but received no response.
Worried about the dog’s safety, she decided to take it home temporarily. The dog willingly followed her.
In her post, Jane mentioned that she was ready to return the dog to its owner or give it to someone willing to adopt it. She explained that it wasn’t ideal for her to keep the dog long-term, as she already had pets at home.
Jane provided food and a dry place for the dog to rest while waiting for a potential owner or adopter to come forward. As of this writing, it’s still unclear whether the dog was reunited with its owner or if someone decided to adopt it.
Aquino’s act of kindness reminded people about responsible pet care, especially during harsh weather.
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) also emphasized the importance of not leaving pets behind during floods or ensuring they are properly sheltered during rainstorms.
