Karen Davila Appreciates This In Celebrities Featured On Her YT Channel

Karen Davila talked about her YouTube journey

Seasoned broadcast journalist Karen Davila shared that this is something that she appreciates in celebrities she featured on her YouTube channel.

Karen is one of the most well-known news anchor/reporter in the Philippines. In 2021, she decided to go out of her comfort zone in the news and public affairs department. She ventured into vlogging.

She used her journalism skills in interviewing the guests in her vlogs. After three year, her channel’s number of subscribers has grown exponentially.

In a recent interview for the TFC show BRGY, hosted by Bianca Gonzalez, Karen Davila shared her vlogging experience.

Karen said that she loves YouTube but three years ago, she was scared when she started her own channel. It is because it would be a different world for her. She has been in the news and current affairs for many years. There was no need for her to worry about the content or if people would watch her.

Since she is in the news department, it was more of a need to be told than the people’s choice and preference. In doing videos for her YouTube channel, she was thinking if who would watch her because she is not a popular showbiz personality with a huge fan base. This was her fear.

Eventually, that fear disappeared when her channel started growing. Karen shared that she had people who helped her in establishing her channel. She wanted how the YouTube world works and know the ins and outs of the platform.

My YouTube is an inspirational channel and gives you a glimpse in the lives of other people, mostly celebrities, but it’s also about other things in their lives,” she said, adding that she wants to highlight how faith can be a big help in someone’s life.

Karen Davila also shared what she appreciated in her guests. She said that she loves when celebrities would tell her than they can be normal people in her vlogs.

What I appreciate is parang when I interview celebrities is they always tell me that when they go on my YouTube hindi nila pakiramdam na artista sila. Parang they feel the questions aren’t showbiz, that it’s really about them,” she said.

With this, she said that she is thankful to her journalism background because as a journalist, she is trained to hear people’s stories without being judgmental of who they are.
