WALANG PASOK – Various local government units have declared class suspensions due to the effects of Tropical Storm Enteng,
Over the past few days, Tropical Storm Enteng has been affecting the country’s weather conditions. It has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 125 kph, moving northwestward at 25 kph.
The storm, which is bringing heavy rains and strong winds, is expected to intensify as it moves northwest, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures for public safety.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, some local governments decided to suspend classes at all levels in both public and private schools across various regions due to the tropical storm’s potential to cause flooding, landslides, and other hazards
The decision is part of efforts to protect students and the general public from the adverse effects of the weather.
Classes and government work are suspended in the following areas:
- Metro Manila
- Calabarzon: Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon
- Central Luzon: Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales
- Ilocos Region: Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan
- Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR):

- Apayao
- Baguio City (Pre-school to Senior High School)
- Benguet (Pre-school to Senior High School)
- Cagayan Valley:
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino
- Bicol Region: Camarines Sur
- Mimaropa: Occidental Mindoro (Mamburao, Sta. Cruz)
Government offices in Metro Manila and Calabarzon are also closed, except for essential services related to disaster response and healthcare. In other regions, local governments have issued similar orders to minimize risks and ensure that necessary preparations are in place to deal with the storm’s effects.
The residents in the affected areas are advised to stay indoors, monitor weather updates, and follow any additional advisories from local authorities, as Tropical Storm Enteng continues to affect the country.
