ALICE GUO – The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) said that the former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor is trying to get to the “Golden Triangle” to evade arrest.
Countless Filipino were left frustrated by the exit of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo from the Philippines. Her reported departure happened amid her being on the immigration lookout bulletin as multiple complaints have been filed against her.
Guo is faced with accusations about her alleged link to the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in Tarlac. The authorities also questioned her identity amid her inconsistent documents and testimonies.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) found that Guo’s fingerprints matched with the fingerprints of Guo Hua Ping, a Chinese national who entered the country in 2003. The office of the Ombudsman ruled for the dismissal of Guo.
However, the authorities failed to locate former Mayor Guo. They reportedly visited all her registered addresses including the farm and her garments factories but found negative presence.
Recently, Senator Risa Hontiveros presented a document claiming that former Mayor Alice Guo has left the country. The authorities confirmed the departure of the former Mayor amid prior claim from her lawyer saying they have talked and she said she’s in the country. The lawyer of former Mayor Alice Guo is hopeful that she will surrender to the authorities.
According to the authorities, Guo exited the country by flying to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and moving to Singapore. The Bureau of Immigration said that she’s now in Indonesia.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN New, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) said that former Mayor Alice Guo is allegedly trying to get to the “Golden Triangle” to evade arrest. It refers to Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia which are crime-infested nations.
PAOCC spokesman Winston Casio expressed a claim that the Guo family has business interests in Cambodia. He also claimed that the Guo family is a “part of a big criminal organization”. Based on the report, the dismissed Mayor is still in Batam.
Casio said that Guo will not go to China as there are accusations against her in the country. When asked if the PH authorities can still run after the dismissed Mayor if ever she enters the Golden Triangle, the PAOCC Spokesman expressed that it depends which area she will be in.
