Maricel Soriano talked about her role in the new Kapamilya series
Diamond Star Maricel Soriano shared what she loves about her character in the upcoming Kapamilya series Lavender Fields.
Maricel has already done many different roles in her entire career in the Philippine entertainment industry. Her versatility is being admired not just by her fans but also by her fellow celebrities.
She is specifically for her iconic “sampal.” Many younger artists would say that being slapped by her in a dramatic scene is a big honor for them.
Maricel Soriano’s newest project is the drama series Lavender Fields which features Jericho Rosales, Jodi Sta Maria, and Janine Gutierrez.
In an interview, based on the article in PUSH, the seasoned actress shared what she loves about her character Aster Fields. Maricel said that she loves that her character became the savior of Lavender, the character played by Jodi.
“Hindi siya judgmental. Willing siyang makinig,” Maricel said about her character. She also said that Aster listened to Lavender even though the latter looked horrendous when they first met becase she was beaten up. Aster took care of Lavender and groomed her to be a beautiful lady.
Maricel also shared that she enjoyed filming for this project with her co-stars and the production team who she calls her classmates. Even though they started filming early, the Diamond Star said that everyone was happy and no one would display attitude problems.
In this project, Maricel Soriano reunites with her former onscreen partner Albert Martinez, and her ex-husband Edu Manzano. She said that their fans gushed over their onscreen reunion. Meanwhile, she said that there was no awkwardness between her and Edu because they remained friends after they separated.
Despite her many years in the entertainment industry, the seasoned actress said that there are still projects she aspires to do in the future. “Basta meron pa rin akong gustong gawin. ‘Yun na importante, may gusto pa. Eh mahirap ‘yung wala na, ‘di ba? At least meron pa,” she shared.
