Angelu de Leon Reacts To Basher Who Criticized Her “Libreng Gulay”

Angelu de Leon was bashed for her “Birthday Pasasalamat”

Actress-politician Angelu de Leon reacted to her basher who criticized the free vegetables that she gave to her constituents in Pasig City as her way of giving in line with her birthday celebration.

Angelu is one of the many showbiz personalities who ventured into public service. She is currently serving as a councilor in Pasig. It has been her tradition to have her “Birthday Pasasalamat” every year in which she gives back to the people through her community pantry.

However, based on the article in PEP, this received a negative comment from a netizen who criticized through a maliciously edited video that the actress-politician was using this for political purposes and she was only giving five string beans to over 300 residents and that she was telling them to watch her Kapuso series Pulang Araw.

In her social media post, Angelu de Leon answered her basher. She said that this is her personal effort and she has been doing her own community pantry every year to show her gratitude to her consituents.

Nahiya naman ako na hindi ito sapat para sa yo pero, I guess, hindi ka naman taga-Pasig. I will promote Pulang Araw because I am proud of our show,” she said.

She also explained that huge vegetable were cut into half because she can’t afford to give to everyone the whole. Angelu said that indeed the prices of vegetable went up.

Her fellow Pasig City Councilor Kiko Rustia defended her. He said that it was wrong for the basher to speak ill against Angelu because he saw how she works as a public servant and she is doing her best for her constituents.

I need to speak about this kasi napakabuting tao ni Ms. Anj.And mali as in maling-mali ang sinasabi niyo about her,” Kiko said.

Angelu was also defended by the residents of Pasig City as they pointed out that bulks of different kinds of vegetables were given by the actress-politician in her community pantry.
