Sara Duterte is Willing to Take Drug Test First
SARA DUTERTE – Vice President Sara Duterte said she is willing to be the first to undergo drug test.
One of the bills introduced in the House of Representatives proposes random drug testing for government officials. The bill, House Bill No. 10744, was filed by Davao Representative Paolo Duterte.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Sara Duterte stated that she supports House Bill No. 10744, as it aims to ensure that public officials are mentally fit to serve. She said, “Yes of course. Unang-una dapat panigurado nating lahat na nasa tamang pag-iisip ‘yung ating mga public officials, kasama na ako doon.”
Based on a report from Philstar, Sara Duterte has expressed her willingness to be the first government official to undergo a hair follicle drug test. Speaking to reporters in Davao City on Thursday, The Davaoena politician acknowledged public calls for her to take the test and stated that she is prepared to do so through an independent third party.
She emphasized the importance of ensuring that all public officials are mentally fit for their roles.
Earlier, Harry Roque, former presidential spokesperson and supporter of the Duterte family, urged the three Duterte siblings to take the drug test as a way of leading by example.
Additionally, Sara has shown support for her brother, Davao Representative Paolo Duterte’s proposed bill that would require mandatory random drug testing for all government officials, including the president.
On Monday, Paolo introduced House Bill 10744, which calls for mandatory random drug tests using hair follicle samples for public officials. If a person tests positive, a confirmatory urine drug test will follow.
The proposed bill also allows candidates for any electoral positions to voluntarily undergo hair follicle drug testing within 90 days before the elections.
Paolo introduced this bill after their father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, challenged President Marcos last month to take a hair follicle drug test to dispel any rumors of drug use.
