Online Community Seeks Justice for Cat Killed After Being Shot with Arrow
A cat named Hasbas in Tabaco, Albay was tragically killed with an arrow, sparking outrage among the online community.
Cindy Talavera, the cat’s owner and local animal rights advocates are calling for justice as they condemn the cruel act.
According to Talavera, Hasbas had always been an affectionate and clingy companion. On the night of the incident, Hasbas slipped out of the house, and by the next morning, Talavera discovered her beloved pet barely clinging to life, with an arrow lodged in its body.
Despite being rushed to a veterinary clinic, Hasbas was unable to survive the severe injuries. The arrow had caused a severe internal damage, making it nearly impossible for Hasbas to recover.
Ednalyn Cristo, a head volunteer at Tabaco Animal Rescue and Adoption (TAARA), explained that the arrow had pierced deep into the cat’s body, affecting vital organs. The damage was so extensive that the chances of survival were extremely low.
Talavera, who considers her pets like her own children, was devastated by the loss of Hasbas. She, along with TAARA, is determined to seek justice for the innocent cat. The group plans to file a complaint under the Animal Welfare Act once the suspect is identified.
Animal rights groups and concerned citizens have rallied together, demanding a thorough investigation to find the person responsible for this cruel act. As authorities continue to search for the individual who shot the arrow, the community remains united in their call for accountability and stronger protection for animals.
