Gerald Santos Speaks Up About His Story

Here’s what Gerald Santos shared in a video.

It’s been years but the recent issue brought up the one involving Gerald Santos and this is what he said about this.

Perpetrators are lurking everywhere like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They can manipulate you the way they want it to happen until they get what they want from you. In 2010 when singer and theater performer, Gerald Santos was just a teenager, something happened he will never forget.

He was just a minor then when he suffered hostility from an executive he did not name. This happened after he won Pinoy Pop Superstar (2006) Season 2. Amid the issue of Sandro Muhlach and two GMA independent contractors, he spoke about his story which is now timely and relevant to the recent issues.

The alleged perpetrators of Muhlach are Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.

Santos is aware of this issue and it brought back the traumatic memories he suffered along with the trauma itself. He also personally experienced this and he knows how difficult it is stand up in incidents like this.

However, there was one observation that seemed to dismay him and that was the comments “move on” they have received. The actor stressed that this is the same mindset why victims like him and Muhlach are afraid to speak.

It must be easy to say for them to move on but for them, it was never easy to reveal the experience and go back to the memories again for a confession.

“And yan exactly noong time na yun, alam niyo noong nireklamo ko ito doon sa network, may mga executives kaming kinausap, ako at si Kuya Rommel [Ramillo], ang aking manager. Yan ang statements nila before na ‘move on.’ Even yung mga hindi executives na mga kakilala namin, parang yun yung mindset na mali. Mali po,” he shared based on the video.

In his time, executives and non-executives told him to move on like doing it is easier but in actuality, it’s not. It is a wrong mindset to zip up someone who’s been violated and taken advantaged of just because, in their case, they are new in the industry.

He attempted to speak up but his voice was not heard then and his career even suffered. Santos is kind of banned from showing up in any Kapuso.

In a previous article, Gerald encouraged the victims to speak up and use the social media wisely in order to put these predators in place.
