Alden Richards Recalls His Pageant Days

Here’s what Alden Richards shared about this past of his.

Kapuso actor Alden Richards has this to share about the part of his life when he used to join pageants as part of his early beginnings.

One of the well-loved actors of today is Kapuso star Alden Richards and one of the much-anticipated projects from him this year is “Hello, Love, Again” with ABS-CBN actress Kathryn Bernardo. This is the sequel of their highly-successful movie titled “Hello, Love, Goodbye”.

Before the big star status that he has now, his early beginnings in show business can be traced back from the time when he was doing pageants. In “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” this Friday, he shared something about this part of his life.

Before joining show business 13 years ago, he joined three pageant and he won in all of them. He earned the titles Mister and Miss Intramurals in Paco Catholic School in 2008, Ginoong Santa Rosa in 2009, and Ginoong Laguna in 2010.

In the same episode of FTWBA, he also demonstrated the walk he learned and showed his skills in the crucial Q and A portion. What he did only proved why he won all three pageants he joined.

He recalled that when he joined Ginoong Santa Rosa, the question was: “Do you think that joining pageants such as Ginoong Santa Rosa is a form of exploitation to the youth?”

Recreating this, his answer went this way based on the video:

“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I don’t believe that joining pageants is a form of exploitation because these kinds of events harness the youth to become themselves and to reach their dreams in all sorts of ways and I do like to think this is a steppingstone for them to achieve their dreams in the future.”

Looking back, he’s really gone so far as a successful actor. From someone who joined pageants and believe in it is as a stepping stone to reach someone’s dream, he is now known as Asia’s Multimedia Star and a Box Office King.
