Cat Arambulo ‘Out Of Touch’ Remark About “Baha” Slammed By Netizens

Cat Arambulo became a trending topic on social media for the wrong reason

Social media personality Cat Arambulo was bashed by netizens because of her “out of touch” remark about the flood brought by Typhoon Carina.

Cat became one of the top trending topics on X, formerly Twitter, on July 25 because of her now-deleted TikTok video. In the video, she showed that she and her children were riding in their car amid the flood.

The social media personality was showing her son and daughter the flood water. Her daughter appeared to be excited about this and even suggested that they ride on a “floatie.”

Cat Arambulo asked their yaya if it was safe to be in flood water. “I guess so, it’s just water,” she said. Then she asked if they should try it and suggested that they could do wakeboarding.

This did not sit well with netizens. They called the social media personality insensitive as they pointed out that many people have suffered from the recent flooding. Some pointed out that her remark was “out of touch.” For some netizens, this goes to show that rich people have no idea what less fortunate people have to go through in situations like this.

A netizen even said that it is saddening that Cat is teaching her kids this kind of value while some said that Cat’s remark was the Filipino version of the South Korean movie Parasite’s scene when the rich woman thanked the rain the previous night for the good weather that day but that rain flooded her poor driver’s house.

Some netizens recalled what Cat Arambulo “insensitively” said in 2020 about workers who were stranded at the checkpoint as they insisted on going out to earn a living amid the lockdown. For some netizens, it was not surprising that the social media personality became a trending topic online as they expected that this would be something negative again.
