Sara Duterte Leaves For Germany, OVP Launches Relief Ops

Amid the typhoon, VP Sara Duterte and her family reportedly flew overseas.

Vice President Sara Duterte and her family left for Germany on July 24 and amid this report, her office launched relief operations.

Amid the heavy downpour and massive flooding brought by Carina on Wednesday, Vice President Sara Duterte was seen at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. She was with her husband, their children, and her mother Elizabeth Zimmerman.

The plane left before dawn and landed in Dubai for a connecting flight going to Germany. As of this writing, the Office of the Vice President did not confirm nor deny the travel of the VP.

Carina PH severely flooded several parts of Luzon leaving lots of people stranded and helpless as they wait for the rescue. There were two men stranded because of a flood with one of them forced to jump into the water for some apparent reason.

As for the Vice President, she might be overseas reportedly but her office remained proactive in addressing the immediate and essential needs of the people who are currently struggling because of the typhoon. Relief efforts are ongoing in Mindanao.

Carina has intensified and now a super typhoon while Metro Manila has been placed under a state of calamity. With all these on going, the Office of the Vice President staff were spotted handing out relief good for the severely affected.

Meanwhile, Signal No. 2 was declared over Batanes while Signal No. 1 was declared in these areas:

  • Babuyan Islands
  • the northern portion of mainland Cagayan (Claveria, Santa Praxedes, Sanchez-Mira, Pamplona, Abulug, Ballesteros, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Santa Ana, Gonzaga)
  • the northern portion of Ilocos Norte (Burgos, Bangui, Pagudpud, Dumalneg, Adams)
