New Mother in Quezon City Gets Stranded on Roof Due to Massive Flooding
MASSIVE FLOODING – A new mother gets stranded on roof due to the severe flooding in Quezon City.
On Wednesday morning (July 24, 2024), Metro Manila was hit hard by severe flooding caused by the enhanced southwest monsoon (Habagat) and Typhoon Carina. The weather bureau PAGASA issued a red rainfall warning, signaling serious flooding in low-lying areas of the capital region and several other locations.
Among the worst-hit areas was Quezon City, where a new mother found herself stranded on the roof of her house due to the overwhelming floodwaters.
The flooding was severe enough that the Marikina River’s water level reached 16 meters early in the morning, prompting evacuation orders for residents in the vicinity. The river’s level was closely monitored, with forced evacuations planned if it reached 18 meters
Recently, the Facebook page Lgs Mhelay shared photos of a new mother who found herself stranded on the roof of her house because of severe flooding that hit the area. The post went viral and garnered reactions from concerned netizens.
According to the post, the woman had just given birth when the heavy rains caused water levels to rise dramatically in her neighborhood. The photos shared online show her sitting on the roof, trying to stay dry as the rain continued to fall.
The water had reached such heights that it covered the ground below their house.
