Carina PH – Huge Snake Spotted Amid Flood

Amid the Carina PH flood, a huge snake on water sparked fear among people.

CARINA PH – With international name Gaemi, the heavy rain caused flooding and residents spotted a snake slithering its way amid the flood.

Several parts of Luzon is currently suffering from serious flooding due to Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat.

In a previous article, Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson rescued a stranded family in Quezon City amid the flood. He and the other people came to rescue them and he was spotted carrying the child. The flood is due to the heavy rains brought by Super Typhoon Carina.

Many videos with updates about the calamity is uploaded online but in one video, a resident spotted something that is slithering its way through the flood waters. Based on the video uploaded by a user named Adelfa Gonzales, a huge snake was seen crawling his body in the water which sparked fear among the people.

It is concerning many people as with its size, it is considerably a danger to many including the children. Based on the video, the snake looked like a python but this is not yet confirmed. As much as we all know, although this type of snake is not venomous, its strength and constriction are deadly enough.

Meanwhile, as per the 4 PM update from bureau state weather PAGASA, Tropical cyclone Carina intensified and is now a super typhoon. Its center was at Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 230 km/h.

Carina (international name Gaemi), was forecasted to make landfall over the northern portion of Taiwan on Wednesday evening. In the Philippines, monsoon rains brought by enhanced Southwest Monsoon will pour over Metro Manila, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Ilocos Region, and occasional rains over The rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Ecija, and the rest of CALABARZON.

Flash floods and landslides may occur due to these weather conditions.

Signal No. 2 was declared over Batanes while Signal No. 1 was declared in these areas:

  • Babuyan Islands
  • the northern portion of mainland Cagayan (Claveria, Santa Praxedes, Sanchez-Mira, Pamplona, Abulug, Ballesteros, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Santa Ana, Gonzaga)
  • the northern portion of Ilocos Norte (Burgos, Bangui, Pagudpud, Dumalneg, Adams)
