Disappointed Reddit User Shares Experience When She Was Invited To Wedding
REDDIT USER – A woman behined the Reddit username “EdenCapwell” claimed that she was invited to a wedding to babysit the kids of other guests.
One of the joyous events that can happen in a life of a person is the wedding or getting married. In the part of the family members and friends of the two people who will be officially tying the knot, a wedding invite also sparks excitement, joy, and a teaser for a fun event.
However, in the case of a Reddit user behind the username “EdenCapwell”, it was a different thing. The woman took to the online platform her claim that she was invited to babysit the children of the other guests. There is also a surprising way of how she found out about her role.
According to the woman, when she got the invitation card from her mailbox, she found it beautiful and she immediately stuck it in her fridge first before getting the note that fell from the card to the floor. The invitation was addressed to her and her husband.
EdenCapwell stressed that she loves weddings and she was teary-eyed when she received the invitation. It came from the daughter of her best friend and her fiance. She was almost like her goddaughter and she and her best friend spent a lot of important milestones together. Even their daughters are the best of friends, too.
However, the next thing that happened shocked the Reddit user. When she picked up the notecard and read it, that’s when she found out about her role at the wedding — as a babysitter along with the other female invitees.
According to EdenCapwell, it was written on the notecard that she is still required to dress in the event that she might be on a photo but she will be in a room at the church together with the kids during the entire wedding ceremony. Her husband who is not close to either the groom or the bride will be the one who can watch the wedding ceremony.
The Reddit user also claimed that she and her husband have to pay $100.00 each for their meal at the wedding. They have to make the payment online when they confirm the RSVP which also comes with another fee on a website chosen by the couple.
“It’s just pure audacity for me. They expect me to not only pay for a meal that I have to eat while watching kids… but also get them a gift and dress up just in case I happen to be captured in the photos,” the woman said.
However, there is another big problem for the Reddit user. According to the woman, she is a 50-year-old woman who is a Person-with-Disability. She revealed that she uses a walker or even a wheelchair at times and while she can watch over the kids, she cannot prevent them from falling.
The woman admitted that she’s really angry and sad over her unique role in the wedding. She feels disrespected considering how close she is to the family of the bride.
