PAGASA Says LPA to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (July 18, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that a low-pressure area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Bicol Region, Caraga, Marinduque, and Romblon.

“Halos buong bansa ay nakararanas ng maulap na kalangitan na may pag-ulan,” Aurelio said.

The LPA will bring was last spotted in the waters of Catbalogan City, Samar. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical storm. “Itong low pressure area ay nananatiling mababa ang tiyansa na maging bagyo,” Aurelio explained.

The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol region, Marinduque, Romblon, and Caraga region.

The trough or extension of the LPA will bring similar weather conditions over Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon.

The southwest monsoon will bring similar weather over Metro Manila, Bataan, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of CALABARZON and MIMAROPA.

The localized thunderstorms will bring fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan will be slight to moderate. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboard.
