PAGASA Says LPA and Habagat to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area and habagat will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (July 17, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and habagat will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that a Low-Pressure Area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon.
A low-pressure area was last spotted 200 kilometers east northeast of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
“Sa ngayon di pa rin natin inaalis yung posibilidad na ito ay maging bagyo habang lumalapit ito sa kalupaan, gayunpaman, maging bagyo man o hindi itong LPA, nagbababala tayo kasi patuloy ito magdadala ng mga pag-ulan sa mga susunod na araw,” said Bardrina.
Habagat will affect the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the rest of MIMAROPA, Visayas, and Mindanao.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of CALABARZON.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the western section of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Mindanao and the western section of Visayas as well as the remaining parts of the archipelago will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboard.
