Elijah Canlas talked about the end of his stint in ‘Batang Quiapo’
Kapamilya actor Elijah Canlas is thankful for the opportunity given to him by the primetime series Batang Quiapo but he is a bit sad because of this missed opportunity.
Elijah is one of the prominent actors of his generations. His acting prowess has been recognized by critics. Because of his talent, he was given remarkable projects that even highlighted his career.
In the Kapamilya action-drama series led by primetime action star Coco Martin, Elijah played the villain role. At the same time, he is doing the series High Street, the sequel to Senior High.
Just recently, Elijah Canlas bid goodbye to his character in Batang Quiapo. In an interview, based on the article in Bandera, the actor shared that he is a bit sad that he wasn’t not able to have scenes with co-stars that he looks up to like Direk Joel Lamangan.
Aside from the prominent director, Elijah also wished he could have the chance to share the same frame with other veteran stars in the series, such as Ronnie Lazaro, Lito Lapid, and Lorna Tolentino.
On the other hand, he is happy to have the chance to act alongside Charo Santos and Irma Adlawan who he calls his idols.
Elijah said that he was not totally sad that his character’s life in BQ has ended. It is because he had so much fan while filming his scenes in the series. Although his character was an antagonist, he was happy to be part of the “number one” show in the Philippines.
The actor also said that he has been part of the series since January and it was long enough like a regular teleserye.
Overall, he is grateful for his wonderful experience in Batang Quiapo and it was an honor for him to be part of this project. He also said that he is excited for his upcoming projects after his stint in the series.
When asked what he will miss the most in the series, Elijah Canlas said that it is the on-the-spot script. “Sa mismong set na lang ibibigay ‘yung lines tapos ikaw na ang bahala kung paano mo ide-deliver ‘yun na puwede mong i-improv o puwede mong idagdag, one of a kind,” the actor said.
