Alice Guo’s Assets under Freeze Order by Court of Appeals

CA’s Freeze Order Includes Alice Guo’s Assets, Senate Seeks Arrest of Mayor

ALICE GUO’S ASSETS – The Court of Appeals released a Freeze Order for the assets of individuals and companies linked to illegal POGO operations.

The name of suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is ringing loud in the Philippine political industry now amid the investigations on the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations in the country.

Aside from the questions on her alleged involvement of the illegal POGO operations in the country, the identity of the suspended Mayor is also being questioned. The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI previously confirmed that Alice Guo’s fingerprints matched the fingerprints of Guo Hua Ping.

The said matching of their fingerprints suggested that they are the same identity. The inconsistencies on the testimonies and documents of Guo also spark a lot of questions aside from her huge wealth.

Recently, Mayor Alice Guo did not attend the Senate hearing after his lawyer claimed that the Mayor is “traumatized” for how she was treated. Attorney Stephen David also said that the Mayor is emotionally and physically drained from the many allegations against her.

Prior to the Senate hearing which was set last July 10, Sen. Risa Hontiveros reminded Guo and her camp of their obligations to respect the Philippine laws. She also did not consider the assertion of the Mayor’s camp that it is self-incrimination so they refused to attend the hearing.

According to Hontiveros, the Supreme Court recognizes self-incrimination if there is a question raised. Following her absence on the Senate hearing, Mayor Alice Guo was cited in contempt and the issuance of a warrant of arrest is sought.

Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Anti-Money Laundering Council or AMLC announced that the Court of Appeals has issued a freeze order for the assets of the companies and individuals who are accused of involvement in the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations.

Among those included in the freeze order issued by the Court of Appeals are Mayor Alice Guo’s assets. The freeze order also includes the assets of Zhiyang Huang and Baoying Lin.

Mayor Alice Guo’s assets are among the 90 bank accounts, real properties, and high-value personal properties including a helicopter and luxury vehicles which are under the Freeze Order released by the CA.
