PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Rains Over Parts of the Country
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that ITCZ will bring a chance of rain in many parts of the country.
On Thursday (July 11, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
“Halos buong bansa po ay nakararanas ng maulap na kalangitan dahil sa ITCZ,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao), SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City), Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Davao Occidental.
“Itong ITCZ ay magpapatuloy ang epekto nito bukas kaya makakaranas pa din ng maulap na kalangitan at thunderstorm,” Aurelio said.
Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, and the rest of MIMAROPA, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country. Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.
PAGASA said that no tropical cyclones are expected to form or enter the Philippine area of responsibility until Friday (July 12, 2024).
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon, as well as the rest of the country will be slight to moderate. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboards.
