Large Crocodile Wanders Through Busy Street in Maharashtra, India
A large crocodile surprised everyone when it wandered through a busy street in Maharashtra, India, stopping traffic and leaving motorists in awe.
A crocodile is a large, predatory, semi-aquatic reptile belonging to the family Crocodylidae. They are known for their long, V-shaped snouts, powerful jaws, sharp teeth, and tough, scaly skin. These creatures are found in tropical regions of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Australia.
If a crocodile is found in a public place, it is important to ensure the safety of everyone in the vicinity while taking measures to manage the animal responsibly.
Recently, the residents of Maharashtra, India were surprised after witnessing a huge crocodile wandering along the road. The motorists along the road stopped due to the reptile in the middle of the road.
The eight-foot-long crocodile seemed to have lost its way as it walked down the road, looking like it owned the place. Locals think the crocodile came from a nearby river, likely pushed out by rising waters from heavy rains.
The motorists had no choice but to stop and take videos of the rare and unusual sight. Luckily, no one was hurt or attacked by the crocodile, and it’s unclear where it ended up.
Residents were concerned about the incident and criticized the local government for not being able to handle or control the crocodile. Recent heavy rains in India have caused severe flooding and landslides in the northern and northeastern regions, resulting in the deaths of at least 11 people, according to a Reuters report.
In Uttar Pradesh, nine people lost their lives due to the extreme weather. In Assam, two people died, and around 600,000 others were affected, with 8,000 evacuated since June 16, as reported by the state disaster management.
