PAGASA Says ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies with rains over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (July 3, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over Palawan and Western Mindanao while the easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of the country.

“Itong intertropical convergence zone ay nakakaapekto sa bahagi ng Mindanao at sa may Palawan,” Badrina said.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan.

The weather system may weaken in the next few days, which may result to less rainfall. “Sa mga susunod na araw naman, inaasahan na hihina na ang epekto ng intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ sa ating bansa,” he said.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Badrina reported that no tropical cyclones are expected to enter or form inside the Philippine area of responsibility in the coming days.

At least from two to three days, maliit ang tiyansa na magkaroon ng bagyo sa loob ng Philippine area of responsibility,” Badrina added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboards, according to PAGASA.
