PAGASA Says LPA to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area and two weather systems will bring rain over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (June 27, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and two weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that a low-pressure area (LPA) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone was spotted 45 kilometers east northeast of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

“Expect that most parts of the country will experience rainy weather,” Aurelio said.

The LPA and ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Dinagat Islands, Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Quezon, Laguna, and Rizal.

“Dahil sa  low-pressure area at ITCZ asahan natin ang maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorms sa Bicol Region, Mimarop kasama na rin ang Aurora, Quirino at Rizal,” Aurelio said.

The low-pressure area is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone. The easterlies will also bring similar weather conditions over Aurora and Quirino.

The intertropical convergence zone will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of CALABARZON, and the rest of Mindanao.

Similar weather condition is expected over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency has advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboard.
