Fresh Graduate Drowns in Negros Occidental River
A fresh graduate from Banilad 3, Brgy. Nanca, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental lost his life as he drowned on the river.

On Friday, June 21, 2024, a 24-year-old man named Renz Llorente, drowned in the Malogo River at Banilad 3, Brgy. Nanca, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental. The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. when Llorente and his friends were celebrating his recent college graduation.
On June 19, 2024, Llorente graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration from Silay Institute Inc., becoming the first degree holder in his family.
Renz has expressed his gratitude to his parents for their sacrifices and expressed his love for them.
The E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station reported that Llorente was swept away by a strong current, intensified by recent rainfall. He was rushed to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City but was declared dead on arrival.
