Bea Alonzo-Carla Abellana Widow’s War Series, Suzette Doctolero Clarifies This

Bea Alonzo and Carla Abella worked together for the first time in this series

Kapuso actresses Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana are featured in the new murder mystery series Widow’s War and writer Suzette Doctolero clarified something about this.

It was announced early this year that Bea would have her third Kapuso series. She transferred to GMA from ABS-CBN back in 2021. The first project that she did with the Kapuso network was the series Start-Up PH with Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards.

It was followed by the series Love Before Sunrise with drama king Dennis Trillo. For her third series as a Kapuso, Bea is sharing the same screen with Carla.

In a previous interview, Carla Abellana shared that working with Bea Alonzo is a wish come true. It has been her dream to have a project with the former Kapamilya actress.

Carla is one of the homegrown talents of GMA. Even though rumors surfaced that she would transfer to another network, the actress remained with her home network. Prior to this, she did the series Stolen Life with former Kapamilya actress Beauty Gonzalez.

Just recently, teasers and trailers of Widow’s War were released and apparently, netizens speculated that this is another “kabit serye” or a series that is about mistresses and stealing one’s husband.

However, Suzette Doctolero clarified that this is not the theme of the new Kapuso series. Through her post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Kapuso writer said, “Walang agawan ng asawa sa Widow’s War. Widows nga kas! Sino bang nagkakalat ng tsismis na agawan ng asawa ire? [rolling on the floor laughing emojis].”

This was shared on a popular showbiz site and netizens have negative and positive reactions to this. Some netizens reiterated that it was about widows and their husbands were already dead and shared their guess about the storyline while some predicted that in the middle of this soap, it will become uninteresting anymore. Here are some comments.
