Piolo Pascual talked about being a dad to Iñigo Pascual
Kapamilya A-list actor Piolo Pascual said that he is a “cool” dad to his son actor-singer Iñigo Pascual.
Iñigo followed his father’s footsteps in the entertainment industry. Piolo is one of the most sought-after leading men in showbiz and his career path has become an inspiration to younger actors.
Despite Piolo’s status in the entertainment industry, his son was able to make his own mark. Iñigo his Hollywood debut as part of the US series Monarch two years ago. Based on the article in PUSH, Piolo couldn’t be prouder for his son.
In a recent interview for his new series Pamilya Sagrado, Piolo Pascual explained why his son was not considered to be part of the series.
He said that Iñigo is currently staying in the US and he is doing some projects there. However, he is not closing the doors when it comes to sharing the same frame with his son someday.
“Because even my son is not comfortable working with me. Magtatawanan lang kami siguro. We love to sit together, pero to act together sabi ko it will take a really good script,” the A-list actor added.
He also shared that his son did not grow up with him. Iñigo is Piolo’s son with his former partner Donna Lazaro. When Iñigo was still young, he would spend time with his dad if there was no work. Piolo would also visit his son when they moved to the States once or twice a year.
Although they are not together most of the time, Piolo shared that his son would consult him for the things he does.
“He was like texting me the other day, ‘Pa, I want to do this business, who can I partner up with? How do I start with a business? Who’s your contact for this and that?’ Sabi ko, ‘Son, that’s adulting. Gather it all. Write it down. And then we’ll discuss it when I see you next month.’ So nandun na siya sa point na yun,” Piolo shared.
The A-list actor also shared that he is not tolerant but he is a cool dad. “I’ve always been the cool dad. I’ve also never had the chance to live with him so pag may oras na puwede kami magkasama, I make it appear as if, you know, it’s the last day of the world,” Piolo Pascual shared.
He also shared that now that his son has become an adult, they have more time together. Piolo would have a tour and Iñigo would come and during breaks they would meet, and spend time as father and son. The A-list actor said that this is the best feeling for him, so as a father, he can say that he is a cool dad.
