PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that hot and humid weather condition is expected over parts of the country.

On Monday (June 17, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas and will bring rains.

“Inaasahan natin dulot ng southwest monsoon malaki yung tsansa ng pag-ulan at maulap na kalangitan partikular na sa bahagi nitong Palawan at Western Visayas ito yung area ng Panay Island, ganun din sa bahagi ng Guimaras,” said Badrina.

The monsoon will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms over Palawan and Western Visayas.

Monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and the rest of Mimaropa.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warning was raised in any seaboards of the country.

No weather disturbance or low-pressure area is found within the Philippine area of responsibility.

On the other hand, 28 areas in the country may feel a heat index in the “danger” category.
