Suspect Steals Mountain Bike Worth P50K and Sells It for Only P1,400
ROBBERY INCIDENT – A mountain bike worth P50, 000 was stolen by a heartless suspect and was sold for only P1,400.
Robbery is a crime involving the unlawful taking of property from a person or a person’s immediate presence, against their will, by means of force or intimidation. It is considered a violent crime because it typically involves a threat or use of force to obtain the property.
Recently, Kenneth Magliba, a 20-year-old young man, was devastated when his mountain bike, valued at P50,000, was stolen. The bike had been parked in front of his girlfriend’s house in Brgy. Cayanga, San Fabian.
CCTV footage shows a man taking the bike from a house in San Fabian, Pangasinan.
“May nag-message sa akin na ninakaw ‘yung bike ko. Ngayon hindi ako naniniwala. Biglang sinned sakun yung video, yung kuha ng CCTV kaya sabi ko bike ko yun. ginagamit ng anak ko, ginagamit pag pumupunta ng girlfriend,” said Kenneth.
According to the police investigation, the suspect quickly sold the bike at a fish market in Dagupan City. The bike, worth P50,000, was sold for only P1,400, which deeply upset Kenneth.
“Masama loob ko kasi ang balita ko, ibinenta lang sa P1,400 yun. hindi naman basta-basta yung price nun kaya medyo masamang masama ang loob ko,” he said.
The incident was reported to the authorities, and with the help of the CCTV footage, the suspect was identified as Rodolfo Erto Jr., also a resident of San Fabian.
Erto was arrested, but the mountain bike was not recovered since it had been sold to an unknown individual from Dagupan City. The suspect now faces theft charges filed by Kenneth. The police are still searching for the bike and the person who bought it.
