Heat index is the “measure of the contribution that high humidity makes with abnormally high temperatures in reducing the body’s ability to cool itself.”

To recall, six people died of extreme heat in Cotabato Village last April. It is advised that during times like this, people must stay out of the sun and find some shed or something that will cool them down to avoid unwanted incidents. It is also suggested to wear protection like sunblock, sunscreen, wearing a hat, putting on cooling clothes, and others.

It is also best to drink plenty of water and not stay under the sun for prolonged time.
