BRIDE – A woman resident of the United Kingdom who identified herself as Amanda got fired from her work exactly on her wedding day.
In the lives of most women, one of the most important and memorable event is their wedding day. In the case of women who have yet to marry, it is also one of the events that they look forward to. However, it is different in the case of Amanda.
Amanda is a woman from Cyprus who shared her story to Ben Askin’s YouTube channel, The Ben Askins Show. In her letter, she shared that she got fired from work exactly on her wedding day.
Amanda is a resident of the United Kingdom. The wedding was held in Cyprus. According to the bride, during the wedding ceremony, she was not able to get hold of her phone during the entire ceremony. It was only at the reception that she got hold of it and read the unexpected message.
The bride was expecting to read congratulatory messages on her wedding day. However, what shocked her was that she was blocked and removed from all the company’s WhatsApp groups. She then read the message fo her employer.
According to Amanda, her boss started with an expression of hope that the wedding went well and that she had a nice time away. Her employer then informed her that the decision has been made and the company unfortunately has to let her go. The boss told her to refer to an email sent to her email address.
When she read the message sent to her email, Amanda was told that she was fired from her job because she does not meet the expectations of the company based on her position. The bride told Ben that there were no hints about it and the company’s only complaint was the delay when she makes email replies.
Amanda also stressed that she okay with the management. She suspects that the company possibly wants single employees and the recently-hired employee in their team may be her replacement the whole time.
According to her, she is in probationary status and only her in their group has yet to be regularized. She also expressed that when the company knew that she’s settling down, they also asked if she plans to have a child to which she answered yes.
The woman who was supposedly a very happy bride on her wedding day but unexpectedly got fired from work has a speculation that the company may be avoiding to pay benefits for married employees with dependents.
In her letter to Ben Askins, she admitted that she is angry over what happened. Following the dismissal from her job, instead of enjoying the transition to a new chapter of her life, she’s busy finding a new job.
