Comedienne Aiai delas Alas Rants Against Star Cinema After an Article Takedown

AIAI DELAS ALAS – The Comedy Queen was hurt by the take down request of the Star Cinema over an article about the “Tanging Ina” reunion movie.

In the Philippine entertainment industry, Aiai is one of the most popular celebrities. She was part of several hit TV series as well as hit movies. Undeniably, when it comes to the films that she starred, the most popular is the movie Ang Tanging Ina.

The 2003 movie directed by the late filmmaker Wenn V. Deramas who died in 2016 was a hit. It gathered several stars in one film. It had a sequel entitled Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat which also gathered the crowd in cinemas.

It has been years since Aiai did the Tanging Ina movies. Aiai flew to U.S. to be with her husband but she recently resigned from her work abroad for her businesses and her acting career.

Undeniably, there are calls for a reunion of the Tanging Ina stars. However, Aiai delas Alas was recently hurt when an article regarding her statement indicating talks for the Tanging Ina reunion was requested for take down by the Star Cinema.

Based on an article on Pep, the article entitled “Ai Ai delas Alas in talks with Star Cinema for ‘Tanging Ina’ reunion” which was published last June 8, 2024 was taken down. Star Cinema allegedly requested for the takedown of the said article denying that a conversation about it took place between them and the comedian.

However, recently, Aiai delas Alas was hurt by the taking down of the article about the alleged talk for the Tanging Ina reunion. Based on the article, the comedian felt like she appeared to be lying during a Zoom media conference because of the movie.

Aiai revealed that she talked to Star Cinema’s former advertising and promotions manager, Roxy Liquigan, about the possibility of a reunion movie of the Tanging Ina cast members. According to the comedian, a Filipino-American producer based in the United States is interested to work with the movie company of ABS-CBN for it.

Based on the article, due to the hurt that she feels over the takedown request, Aiai delas Alas released a strong statement against Star Cinema which caught the attention of many people.

“Bakit pinagkakitaan niyo naman ako dati sa Star Cinema, di ba?” the Comedienne said.

The statement of Aiai earned her a lot of bashing online. She was criticized by several netizens who asserted that she also made money because of Star Cinema.
