Actor Xian Lim Says He Did Not Initiate the Breakup with Kim Chiu
XIAN LIM – The actor-director spoke on the night that he and Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu broke up after 12 years of relationship.
The breakup of Xian Lim and Kim Chiu which was confirmed by the actress last December 2023 broke the hearts of countless KimXi fans and supporters. The two celebrities were loveteam partners before they became real-life lovers.
Kim and Xian top-billed the TV series My Binondo Girl and The Story Of Us. They also starred in the hit movies Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo, Past Tense, and Bride for Rent.
The breakup of KimXi was surrounded by issues and intrigues. There were rumors of infidelity on the part of the actor — which he denied. He also denied the rumors that he asked her to cook a steak for him before breaking up with the actress.
During his recent guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Xian Lim revealed that Kim Chiu initiated their breakup. He also debunked the netizens’ claim that he’s speaking up on their separation for the promotion of his new film.
Xian admitted that he and Kim never had the chance to talk after they broke up. He also believes that he remains friends with his ex-girlfriend. Xian is now in a relationship with Iris Lee, a film producer.
Xian Lim also spoke on the night that he and Kim Chiu broke up. According to the actor, when that night happened, they had a proper conversation. They were emotional but they guaranteed to respect their 12-year journey as a couple.
“Of course, mayroong iyakan but there was that assurance na we went through 12 years of our existence, it has that respect,” the actor revealed.
During the interview, Xian Lim said that he and Kim Chiu talked privately and they did not have to point out who had shortcomings in their relationship. The actor stressed that the length of their relationship speaks for itself. He also emphasized that his record is clean.
“For more than a decade, I never had any… My record is clean, and I am proud of that. You’re not gonna see me in places you’re not supposed to see me,” he said.
Previously, Kim Chiu gave a message for Xian Lim asking her ex-boyfriend that they shall leave respect to each other.
