PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring fair and warm weather over parts of the country.

On Thursday (June 13, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that fair and warm weather due to the easterlies will prevail nationwide. Fair weather is expected over Luzon and Visayas while rain showers are expected in parts of Mindanao.

“Sa Luzon, asahan pa din ang mainit at maaliwalas na panahon, ang buong Kabisayaan ay makararanas ng mainit at maaliwalas na panahon. May ilang lugar sa Mindanao kung saan makararanas ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan.” Aurelio said.

The weather system will bring scattered rain showers over Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Zamboanga Sibugay.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over Caraga and the rest of the Davao Region.

The localized thunderstorms will affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country. “Ang nalalabing bahagi ng Mindanao, fair weather condition po tayo,” he added.

“Wala ho kasi tayong prevailing na habagat o southwest monsoon, kaya yung mga pag-ulan din po natin ay panandalian lang sa hapon o gabi, minsan hindi pa po tumutuloy,” weather forecaster Ana Clauren-Jorda said.

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboards.

The heat index will be below the danger level in thirty-four parts of the nation.

Meanwhile, the lowest heat index forecast, at 25°C, was expected for Baguio City and BSU, La Trinidad in Benguet.

According to PAGASA, regions with a danger level heat index are more prone to experience heat exhaustion and cramping. Extended exposure can potentially result in heat stroke.

To prevent heat-related illnesses, the public was encouraged to drink plenty of water, spend as little time outside as possible, and wear clean clothes.
