“Inaasahan natin na medyo mainit pa rin ang mararanasan, habang sa hapon o sa gabi ay magkakakaroon tayo ng mga isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,” said Badrina.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.

Badrina said that the weather system will continue to prevail over the next few days. “Sa mga susunod na araw ay hindi natin inaasahan na lalakas ang hanging habagat kaya patuloy na isolated rain showers and thunderstorms ang mararanasan sa malaking bahagi ng ating kapuluan,” Badrina added.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

According to PAGASA, the heat index in Metro Manila will range from 41 degrees Celsius at the Science Garden in Quezon City to 42 degrees Celsius at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Pasay City station. This puts the region between an extreme caution and danger category.

The heat index falls between 33°C and 41°C under the extreme caution level and between 42°C and 51°C under the danger level.

The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any parts of the country.
