PAGASA Says LPAs Trough to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a trough of a Low-Pressure Area will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (June 5, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA’s trough will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that a trough of a Low-Pressure Area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

“Inaasahan natin ngayong araw ang malaking tyansa ng mga pag-ulan partikular na sa mga lalawigan ng Aurora, gayon din sa Isabela, sa Quezon, Camarines Norte, at Camarines Sur,” Badrina said.

The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Generally fair weather is expected over most parts of the country.

Monsoon break or warmer weather is still expected despite PAGASA’s official declaration of the start of the rainy season.

“Sa mga nagtatanong bakit nagdeklara ng tag-ulan ang Pagasa pero mainit pa rin lalo na bandang tanghali, sa ngayon kasi may tinatawag tayo na monsoon break o kung saan itong southwest monsoon o hanging habagat ay hindi ganun kalakas kaya hindi masyadong nagdadala ng mga pag-ulan,” he added.

According to PAGASA, the heat index in Metro Manila will range from 40 degrees Celsius at the Science Garden in Quezon City to 42 degrees Celsius at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Pasay City station. This puts the region between an extreme caution and danger category.

It was advised to the public to take preventative measures against heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and cramps.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
