Ice Seguerra Assures Support for Wife Liza Diño

Ice Seguerra spoke on the decision of his wife, former FDCP chairperson Liza Diño, to file a case against PEP.

Liza Diño has served the Film Development Council of the Philippines as its chairperson for several years. He held the position prior to former FDCP chairman Tirso Cruz III taking the lead of the office. Amid her stint, there were several issues and accusations against the then-FDCP chairperson.

Recently, Liza Diño filed a case against PEP and the personalities allegedly involved in the pursuit to tarnish her reputation. The former FDCP chairperson filed the charges at the Office of the Prosecutor of Quezon City.

Liza was with her legal counsels and her husband, Ice Seguerra, when she filed the case at the of the Prosecutor of Quezon City. In its official statement, PEP has yet to receive a complaint from the Office of the Prosecutor.

According to Liza, it took her almost a year on which move to make on the articles that allegedly did not seek to inform but to damage and destroy her. She talked to her husband and her family and thinking that it may earn her another judgment if she will make a move, she decided to stay quiet.

“Pero ito ba yung tama? Why am I allowing their false narrative to be the truth when I know my truth,” the former FDCP chairperson wrote.

According to Liza Diño, she decided to fight back to reclaim her name and reputation. She stressed that regardless of the outcome, she will rest easy knowing that she stood up for herself and demanded accountability.

Recently, at the FAMAS Awards night held at The Manila Hotel, Liza Diño spoke candidly regarding the charges she filed against PEP and the personalities allegedly involved in the write-ups against her.

According to the former FDCP chairperson, her camp has already filed a case but they have yet to hear a response. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, she said that it may take a week before PEP will receive the subpoena.

“Siguro kailangan din natin maging responsible sa paglalabas ng kung anong istorya. It’s very important for us to understand what we are reporting is the truth,” she said.

Ice Seguerra was also present at the event. Based on the article, the singer-songwriter expressed that she will support his wife “in all ways”. He stressed that he is by her side every step of the way most especially during those months when the articles were published.
