Former FDCP Chairperson Liza Diño Files Charges Against PEP, Personalities Involved
PEP – The Philippine Entertainment Portal released a statement on the charges filed by former FDCP chairperson Liza Diño against it and specific personalities.
Recently, former Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson Liza Diño appeared at the Office of the Prosecutor of Quezon City. Liza filed charges against the Philippine Entertainment Portal and the personalities involved in the moves that were allegedly in the pursuit to tarnish her reputation.
The case filed by former FDCP chairwoman Liza Diño stemmed in the articles published by PEP about her in May 2023. According to the former chairwoman of FDCP, it took her a year to decide on the move to take that she initially chose to be silent as making a move may lead to the people judging her again.
However, Liza demands for accountability. She stressed that she knows the truth and she has decided to fight back and reclaim her name and reputation “through a system that is impartial to their great power and influence”.
Ice Seguerra, the husband of Liza Diño, was with the former chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines when she appeared at the Office of the Prosecutor of Quezon City to file the charges against PEP.
According to Liza, regardless of the result of the legal move in the pursuit of reclaiming her name and reputation, it relieves her to know that she stood up for herself and demanded accountability.
Recently, PEP released an official statement following reports about the move of Liza Diño. In the official statement of the media website, it said that it has yet to receive any paper or document from the Quezon City Office of the City Prosecutor (QC OCP) thus it cannot comment yet on the alleged complaint.
According to PEP, in case it will receive the papers or documents about the alleged complaint filed by Liza Diño, it “intends to avail any and all legal remedies available to it”. The entertainment news and lifestyle website also assured that it will cooperate with the QC OCP “for the proper resolution” of the complaint.
The official statement was penned by Attorney Ana Alexandra C. Castro of the Yorac Sarmiento Arroyo Chua Coronel & Reyes Law Firm.
