Heart Evangelista will have a new role in the Senate
Senator Chiz Escudero said that his wife Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista was “nag-panic” when she was told that she will lead the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc.
Just recently, Sen. Chiz had his oathtaking as the new Senate President. He replaced Senator Migz Zubiri. Heart was present during the ceremony and she shared a post dedicated to her husband for this new milestone in his political career.
In an Instagram post, Heart said that she is proud of her husband as the new Senate President.
As a tradition, automatically, the spouse of the Senate President will lead the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. When Sen. Migz was the Senate President, his wife Audrey Tan-Zubiri was the head of the said foundation.
Now, Heart Evangelista will automatically lead the foundation after her husband’s oathtaking as the Senate President. Based on the article in PEP, Sen. Chiz shared his wife’s initial reaction when he told her that she has a new responsibility.
“Pinag-usapan na namin kagabi. Parang naiyak siya nang kaunti, nag-panic siya, parang hindi daw niya kay,” Sen. Chiz shared. He also shared that his wife was able to meet other Senators’ spouses when they had a dinner at the Malacañang after the oathtaking.
The Senator said that Heart has been asking about her responsibility and that a meeting will be held next week. A briefing will come after this.
“Nag-uusap sila at magmi-meeting ata sila next week. Nagtatanong siya. Hindi daw niya alam, hindi daw niya kabisado. Sabi ko, ‘Ako rin naman, hindi ko alam, hindi ko rin kabisado.’ Sabi niya, ‘E, ikaw ang tagal-tagal mo na diyan, mundo mo yan.’ Sabi ko, ‘E, senador, oo. Pero Senate President, hindi,” the Senate President said.
Sen. Chiz also told his wife not to put too much pressure on herself and that she would do just what she could do. He also advised his wife to ask the members of Senate Spouses what to do and from that she will have an idea of what she can do as the head. He also told Heart Evangelista to continue the projects from the previous leadership if it is possible to continue.
The lawmaker also said that his wife is willing to accept the responsibility and she is preparing for this.
