Man Arrested for Threatening Sari-Sari Store Owner for Being ‘Tsismosa’

MUNTINLUPA – A man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill a sari-sari store owner for being a ‘Tsismosa’.

Around 11:55 PM on May 20, 2024 (Monday), the police authorities arrested a man who allegedly threatened a sari-sari store owner whom he accused of being a gossip. The incident happened on San Guillermo Street in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa.

The 46-year-old store owner identified as Rhona, reported to the police that she was inside her store when the 38-year-old suspect, known only as Edwin, 38, approached her with a firearm. Edwin allegedly said, “Ate Rhona, tsismosa ka, papatayin kita!”

Rhona retreated into her house and contacted the Putatan Police Substation to call for help. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered Edwin in possession of the firearm and took him into custody. Four actual bullets and a .22-caliber handgun were taken from him by the authorities.

Edwin, a resident of Barangay Putatan, is currently under the Muntinlupa Police’s custody. He is accused of making serious threats and illegally possessing weapons and ammunition.
