67-Year-Old Grandma Earns Admiration Online for Taking College Entrance Exam in Rizal
A 67-year-old woman named Lolita Escal took a college entrance exam at the University of Rizal System in Angono on May 19.

Recently, the Facebook page “URS Angono Campus – University Supreme Student Government” shared a photo of an elderly woman taking a college entrance exam despite her old age, the post quickly spread like wildfire online.
Nanay Lolita is set to graduate from senior high school, specializing in the Humanities and Social Sciences track. Her determination to continue her education has inspired many, including her teacher, Johanna Barabona.
Barabona said that despite her hearing difficulties, she actively participates in class discussions and excels in essay writing. The senior citizen student is an inspiration to everyone.
“Sa kabila ng mahinang pandinig, hindi alintana sa kaniya ang pagsali sa aming talakayan. Mahusay rin siya sa pagsulat ng mga sanaysay,” Barabona shared.
“Isa siyang inspirasyon sa lahat. Tunay nga na, anuman ang edad, walang makapipigil sa pag-abot ng mga pangarap!” Barabona added.
