President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reacted to the viral pictures of him with Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, whom he recently claimed not to know. It can be recalled that after Marcos stated on Thursday, May 16, that he did not know Guo, the mayor reposted several photos with him.
Additionally, other photos from Guo’s Facebook post in 2022, when Marcos was still campaigning for the presidency, also circulated on social media.
Meanwhile, in an interview last Saturday, May 18, President Bongbong Marcos said that those photos wouldn’t prove anything because he doesn’t refuse anyone who wants to take a picture with him.
“That proves nothing,” said Marcos.
“You know how many pictures I take during the campaign? Siguro isang libo sa isang araw. Lahat naman ng humihingi ng selfie hindi ko hinihindian,” he added.
In this regard, Bongbong Marcos said that the investigation will continue regarding Guo’s citizenship, and even his alleged involvement with the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) in Tarlac.
“Let’s allow the Executive side and the Legislative side to continue our investigation. Wala pang definitive na conclusions,” said PBBM.
When Senator Risa Hontiveros asked Guo where she was born and which school provider her homeschooling teacher was connected to, her response was “hindi niya alam” and “hindi na niya matandaan.”
Guo allegedly registered her birth at the age of 17 at home, and she also claimed not to have a diploma because she continued her education through homeschooling, where she was taught by a tutor while living on a farm.
This questioning of Guo’s identity comes after an investigation into the mayor’s alleged involvement in the province’s raided POGO.
