Kaila Estrada received praise from the CBML director
Director Mae Cruz-Alviar had this revelation about Kapamilya actress Kaila Estrada and her confrontation scene in the series Can’t Buy Me Love.
Kaila has been receiving good reviews for her acting performances. Earlier this month, she had a scene in the Kapamilya series that went viral and she became a trending topic on social media because of that. Her character Bettina had a confrontation scene with her family.
Viewers praised the stars of the series, most especially how Kaila showcased the middle-child character’s emotional struggles.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Balita, Direk Mae Cruz Alviar revealed that the confrontation scene was only one take.
“Mahaba ‘yong buong gubat. Pero the whole confrontation, tuloy-tuloy lang ‘yon. Halos isang take lang siya. Talagang binigay niya lahat, saka wala na kaming araw. Maganda performance. Talagang buong puso niyang binigay. One take lang ‘yon halos,” the director shared.
Direk Mae also shared that in the story, everyone was an obvious suspect and they wanted to surprise the viewers. They wanted to get “What? Siya pala!” reactions from the viewers and they were able to achieve that.
“We wanted to keep it under wraps. In fact, artists and everyone on set got an NDA. We wanted to keep it a secret and a surprise,” the director added.
Direk Mae also shared that when it comes to Kaila’s character, she has the motivation to be the villain, and no one from the cast members can be left out because they can handle their characters well even if they will turn out to be the villain. “But Kaila, nakita ko, ito na next gen of superstars,” Direk Mae said.
Prior to this, Kaila Estrada also became a trending topic because of a particular scene in Linlang, the Prime series featuring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.
