Security Guard Arrested for Firing Gun After Being Denied Bathroom Use
ANTIPOLO CITY – A security guard fires his gun after his request to use the vendor’s CR was denied.
A security guard is a person employed by a private company or organization to protect property, assets, people, or information. They are responsible for monitoring and patrolling designated areas to prevent theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and other illegal activities.
Security personnel may work in various settings such as office buildings, malls, banks, hospitals, airports, schools, and events. Their duties may include monitoring surveillance cameras, checking credentials, enforcing rules and regulations, responding to emergencies, and providing assistance to visitors or employees.
They play an important role in maintaining safety and security in their assigned areas.
Recently, a 55-year-old security guard ended up behind bars after allegedly getting into a scuffle with a banana cue vendor in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City, Rizal. According to police investigations, the suspect requested to use the vendor’s CR but was refused permission.
“Yung CR na pag-aari ng vendor ay exclusive para sa kanyang mga kliyente, sa mga bibili. ‘Yun ang pinagsimulan ng kanilang away,” said PLt. Divina Rafael, Duty Officer of Antipolo Police Station.
According to the vendor, the suspect fired at him, but luckily, he wasn’t hit. The bullet hit the bathroom door instead. The suspect claimed that he fired the gun due to extreme anger but didn’t intend to hit the vendor.
It was found out that the suspect was a security guard and was under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.
The suspect was apprehended with a caliber .22 revolver and five bullets, which were found to be without proper documents and licenses.
“Humihingi ako ng sorry sa biktima. Wala akong ano patayin siya. Nandoon siya sa labas, siguro narinig lang niya ‘yung putok na ‘yun kaya siya nataranta,” the suspect explained.
