PAGASA Says ITCZ to Prevail Over Most Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rain showers over parts of the country.
On Monday (April 29, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone affecting southern Mindanao will bring rain showers over Caraga and Davao Region.
“Makikita natin itong papalapit na kaulapan sa silangang bahagi ng Mindanao, itong mga kaulapan na ito ay ang epekto ng ITCZ. Kaya sa nabanggit na lugar asahan natin ang mataas na tiyansa ng pag-ulan throughout the day,” Villamil said.
The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over the Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.
Cloud clusters were spotted over the eastern part of Mindanao, which may bring a high chance of rain showers throughout the day.
The Easterlies/Localized Thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Visayas, Palawan, Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have generally fair weather with chances of isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
“Ang nalalabing bahagi naman ng bansa kasama ang Metro Manila ay magpapatuloy itong generally fair weather conditions maliban na lang sa mga tiyansa ng isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms,” he added.
The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions across the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warning was raised on the country’s seaboard.
