PAGASA Says HPA’s Ridge to Bring Hotter Weather Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (April 16, 2024)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the ridge of a high-pressure area will bring hotter weather over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (April 16, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ridge of a high-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that 24 areas will experience a dangerous heat index. Warmer weather is expected over parts of North and Central Luzon’s eastern portion.

The high-pressure area diminishes the chances of rainfall as it causes higher maximum temperatures. However, there is a low chance of cloud formation over the eastern part of Northern and Central Luzon.

The HPA’s ridge will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the entire Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility may bring rain to some areas in Mindanao. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Davao Region, South Cotabato, and Sarangani.

The LPA has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone. The remaining parts of the country will experience hot and humid weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon as well as the rest of the archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
