Honest Customer Earns Praise Online for Returning Excess Change to Vendor

Honest Customer Returns Excess Change to Vendor

An honest customer has garnered admiration from the online community after returning excess change to a vendor at the market.

Recently, Najata SavedBy Grace, a Facebook user, shared her experience when she received extra change from a meat vendor at the market. Her post quickly went viral and received various reactions from internet users.

Grace bought items worth P220 pesos at the meat section. She handed P1,000 to the vendor and had to ask for change because he didn’t have enough. Another customer came to buy meat. When the owner returned, he handed her the change

At first, the vendor handed her P700, then P280. So, he gave her a total of P980 in change. She knew something was wrong, then stepped aside and took out her phone to make sure she could calculate properly.

The honest customer realized that the vendor had given her an extra P200. So, he only deducted P20 for the meat, which should have been worth 220 pesos. The vendor looked confused as Grace handed back the excess change.

The latter then realized what had happened and expressed his gratitude towards the honest customer. The lady netizen also pointed out that hardship is not a reason to deceive or take advantage of others.

Bumili kami ng mga ito(raw)sa palengke.

Nung nasa karnehan na kami, halagang 220 ang binili ko. Inabot ko ang 1k. Nagpa change pa xa dahil wala din syang ibang change. May dumating din na bumili ng meat. Pagbalik ng Owner;

Tindero; “Ma’am ito na po ang sukli nio..”

Una inabot nia 700, then 280. Bale, 980 na ang sukli na inabot nia. Alam kung may mali. Tumabi muna ako, at kinuha ko ang CP to make sure ma calculate ko ng maayos. Tama nga hinala ko, sumobra ang sukli nia ng 200. So nahulog sa 20 pesos lang ang kinaltas nia sa karne na supposedly worth 220. Nagtaka pa sya habang inabot ko…;
